From ECTC to FSU

Tomorrow I depart for Florida State University to pursue Theatre and Music! I wanted to express my deepest appreciation for putting on Hadestown and letting me be a part of it. I learned more than I can fully express, but I learned three main things:

One: there's good theatre outside of Niceville! I was blown away with the rehearsal studio as well as the directing, choreography, and blocking in a short three weeks. It solidified my choice to pursue acting and theatre as a career because I enjoyed every minute I was there. I could've stayed there all night!

Two: every role matters. Up until this point in my theatre career, I had mostly lead roles. Being an ensemble member was a role I had longed for but worried I wouldn't live up to. Some of the best dancers and singers I know were ensemble every show but the impact they had was unavoidable. And, on top of that, I had never sung bass in any choir or musical. Needless to say it was so fun and equally as challenging as a lead role. I really learned how to move with purpose and work with others as one big group. Truly, a wonderfully casted show, which brings me to my last point.

Three: I made some awesome friends! Not only was the cast great and a fun bunch to hangout with, but being able to study them and watch their acting choices was something I learned a great deal from.

To end this off, I just want to say thanks, again, for letting me be a part of ECTC, and I will miss our short but meaningful time together!
